About The Advanced Computing Technology (ACT) Laboratory
The Advanced Computing Technology (ACT) Laboratory develops and investigates
new computational methods for industrial, medical, and environmental applications. Such
methods include the development of genetic algorithms for applied optimization and control
problems, fuzzy control, artificial neural networks, and the application of interval
mathematics and fuzzy set theory for modelling uncertainty. The Advanced Computing
Technology Laboratory is equipped with numerous networked PCs. A variety of intelligent
controls, virtual reality, neural network, and expert systems software is installed on the
network.
